HENNA AFTERCARE
- Henna takes about 20-30 minutes to dry completely. Leave henna on skin for as long as possible. This ensures the longevity and dark quality of the stain.
- Scrape off dried henna. Do not wash with water. Always try to keep your hennaed area away from water.
- Moisturize stain with natural lotions like Shea butter or oils like corn, canola and olive oils.
- The henna color may be light or bright orange when you take the dried paste off, this depends on the skin’s chemistry. DON'T worry; the stain will darken over the next 24-48 hours.
- Do not exfoliate. The stain will last about 5 days - 3 weeks, depending on how fast your skin regenerates and how well you take care of the stain.
Beware! Henna is NOT Black!
No matter what anyone says! Here is why- The PPD chemical (Para-phenylenediamine) or Black henna phenomenon has harmed people for years now all around the world. Henna is never black, has no smell or is chemical smelling. It should smell like a combination of cut grass or hay and essential oils like lavender and eucalyptus. PPD can cause serious, severe and irreversible skin damage.
