Who is Ambika?
Born in the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Ambika has always had a passion for art, and she loved to expand her creativity. As a young girl, she was often fascinated with the intricate henna designs she saw on ornately decorated brides. Henna/ Mehendi is an old art form that uses the powdered leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). Mehndi is a simple, beautifully spiritual form of body decoration used for thousands of years by peoples of India, Africa & the Middle East. The henna powder is mixed with lemon juice, and safe essential oils (Lavender) to produce the richest and darkest stains. Ambika began doing henna only a few years ago after doing some research and experimenting with various pastes.
She has been an educator in an inner city high school for the past seven years and uses henna as a method of stress relief after a long day in the classroom. Ambika loves educating people about the beautiful art of henna at every opportunity she has. Please contact her to get more knowledge about the art of henna and also to schedule her for your next event. Henna makes everyone happy!
